On August 25, Icon will host an event to officially launch its latest capability, Icon China, in partnership with the Australia China Business Council (ACBC).

The event will feature a number of guest speakers, including Icon’s strategic partner in China, Strategic Public Relations Group (SPRG), the largest independent PR network in Asia.

Widespread use of mobile devices and ubiquitous Internet connectivity has empowered Chinese consumers. Shoppers now have more information at their fingertips and retail habits are evolving fast. However, at present only 46% of China’s population of 1.4 billion has online access.

Market research experts expect that by 2018, online sales will account for 28% of overall retail sales in China and 70% of these will be generated by mobile devices. An increase in smartphone ownership and Internet penetration will help sustain digital retail growth.
