Earlier this month Choice Hotels Asia-Pac (@Choice_hotels_ap) and icon.pr officially launched the #ChoiceTravelGrammer2016 campaign, which will send up-and-coming travel instagrammers to Choice Hotel properties across Australia from 30-31 July 2016, in a bid to find Australia’s next big TravelGrammer.
The two-week nationwide search received over 700 submissions for 21 coveted spots, which were snapped up by: @simpsontien, @olymli, @photography_byron_bay, @davo_dw, @charlih, @swaller4, @sweetocean, @julesingall, @jetsettingkids, @midnight_photography, @travel_in_pixels, @benheide_photography, @milesgray88, @lauraalycebell, @emmakateco, @portfairypics, @sydneyfoodlover, @megonearth, @fitbackpacker, @shaniac_t_photography and @atasteoftravel, who have an impressive combined total of over 610,000 followers.
The finalists are now working with Lauren Bath (@laurenepbath), a world famous travel photographer and Australia’s first professional Instragrammer, to discover how to best photograph destinations and utilise the social platform ahead of their travels. Given itineraries filled with both local hotspots and hidden gems, the 21 TravelGrammers will then use their skills to showcase their adventures throughout the weekend.
Once completed, the best TravelGrammer will win a three-day getaway to Hervey Bay Resorts and Spa in Queensland, where they will be accompanied by Lauren and receive support in expanding their photography and social media skills.
The campaign aims to encourage domestic travel, by showcasing what Australia has to offer and highlighting the unique and exciting destinations within each state, as well as offering insight into the wide range of choice when booking accommodation.
